The main objective of the Program is the formation of social agents with solid theoretical and methodological knowledge and the capability to detect, understand and propose solutions to problems of local and regional society.

The goal is to offer a Postgraduate Program aimed at improving and developing professionals and graduates of Social Sciences who have the ability to investigate and apply the advances of their disciplines in their respective fields of work.

The Program has declared its objectives in the Regulations of current Studies until 2010 and above all in the Regulations of Studies updated from 2010 onwards.

The academic nature of the Program grants the Master's Degree in Applied Social Sciences once the graduate has demonstrated that her/his theoretical and methodological training enables him/her to formulate a Research Project that meets the current scientific requirements.

The social and cultural characteristics of the Araucanía Region guide a large number of research projects developed by the teams of teachers assigned to the Program and, in turn, guide the research work carried out by its students.
